What better way to pair an LBD with a graphic wing and tortoise shell glasses.

My constant love affair with red lipstick, as beautifully shown on the stunning Florence Welch. Love red on red.

This song makes me want to sit outside, drink a lemonade, while wearing my Bite lipstick in Apricot.

Spring is pretty much here, with winter trying to get some rounds in. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t start sporting the looks you want to for spring. Instead of providing you looks that involve bright colors, I wanted to give you my own “best things for spring a look.” Just go along with it, it won’t be completely useless.

Lips

Instead of doing the typical bright pink lip gloss that is super shiny, pull it back with using a tinted balm. Even though it’s a great winter product as well, tinted balms are still in, and they provide great moisture and enough color that it looks natural and fresh…AND a less sticky option. Don’t know which one to buy, or just on a budget. Revlon’s Colorburst lip balms and Burts Bee’s tinted balms that you can buy them at Target, Walmart, Ulta, and Walgreens (from what I’ve seen). If you have some money to throw down, buy Sugar, Tarte, or YSL lip balms. They are pretty amazing. Also, try Christian Dior’s Lip Glow it’s pretty awesome. You’ll get a well nourished pink pout out of it.

Eyes

Yeah there are pretty and sparkly bright colors for your eyelids. Instead of focusing on the eyelids, let’s put the focal point on eyelashes shall we???

A mascara formula can really make a difference in the look that you are going for. For spring time, you don’t need to overly dramatize your lashes, but they should still grab some attention. I have been using Eyeko’s Long and Tall mascara lately, and I love it (BTW Adele used it in her “Someone Like You” video). The wand is definitely different from what I’ve used before, but it separates lashes really well and it doesn’t clump. There is great definition, which is awesome for a fresh natural look. Let your lashes have some play time too!

Cheeks/Face

If there is one thing to do to your face for spring, it’s to highlight! I love highlighting. Put some highlight on a nice flush, it will make you look alive. You could go with:

-Pressed powder for a lighter look. I have MAC’s Chenman Beauty Powder and it really works well. If you can’t find it, you can use their Mineralize Skinfinish, Beauty Powder (if they have it), In The Abstract,

-Loose powder is great too, but remember a little bit goes a long way. Also, make sure it’s iridescent. Silver Dusk from MAC does it for me, plus that bad boy will last you a while.

-Cream based highlighters are really great and “buildable.” Plus you only need your fingers as a tool, but you can use a brush.

-Liquid based highlighter like the Bobbi Brown Highlighter Pen. There is also MAC’s Lustre Drops, which has a lot of concentration, giving you that golden glow.

Here’s a little trick to add a small glow without using all of the products mentioned above. All you need is your moisturizer. Just apply some on your hands, rub them together, and apply it on your face. The warmth from your hands will nicely set your moisturizer on your face, allowing you to look radiant. Remember, always put just enough, you don’t want to look wet.

I hope you try some of these out. If you do send a pic or let me know.

For those of you who love e.l.f. makeup, they are currently having a buy one get one free sale of their bestselling products. Get it while you can! It ends on April 9th.

So I pretty much abandoned my tumblr, but not intentionally. I am excited to get back to the swing of things.

Even though I’ve been gone for a bit, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing things without makeup. Since my last post I have bought enough makeup to last me for a while, but as you know enough is really never enough.

The main thing I want to rave about is the ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain by YSL. Although it is pricey at $32, but it is completely worth it. They are rich with color, and a nice glossy finish that has staying power. I bought #10 Rouge Philtre and #17 Encre Rose.

If you are on the fence with this product, either go and try it at Sephora, or buy one to try it at home, and return it if you don’t like it. Sephora is pretty good with their return policy. I doubt that you would not buy it. It’s an exceptional product, and one I always wanted.

what's a fun night-out look for gals with brown eyes??

You beautiful lady you! There are so many looks to choose from. Usually women gear towards smokey eyes for a night look, but you don’t have to necessarily go there. You can use a punch of color, but without it looking too heavy.

I definitely recommend the new Metal cream shadows from MAC. They go on really well, they have great staying power, and you can build them up. Pick a color unexpected like Red Hot Copper or Rusty. These colors would look really beautiful on you. Top it with black eyeliner, or use a brown eye shadow like MAC’s Twinks. Use a mascara formula that gives great definition without it looking heavy.

Make sure if you pick a bold or a pop color, keep it in one area of your face. If you do eyes, make sure your lips are neutral. Let me know how this looks for you!

Going to Hoboken…

Prior to meeting up with my friends, I was in the Jane Fonda circa Barbarella mood. I decided to do thick black liner for this evening and light makeup everywhere else with big hair. You know what they say, the bigger the hair, the closer to God. Anyways, I really love this look and it’s usually what I mainly wear. Below is what I used to create the look. Experiment away~btw if you have other makeup or brands that you use, send them. I love variety!

At the Tori Amos concert in NYC at the Beacon Theater. Tori Amos was beyond amazing. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.

Since winter is still around, I still get to wear one of my favorite lipsticks, Rebel from MAC. This color is so beautiful and it stays on nicely, and it’s very suitable for different skin tones. It definitely has some versatility and longevity. I’ve worn this color in the spring and summer. It’s definitely a color worth trying. Hopefully you will give it a chance. I am also using the lip liner Beet from MAC as well. With a color like Rebel, lip liner will definitely help keep it lookin crisp!
